Here at Hair Ministry, we like to keep things smooth and simple. To ensure your visit and results are the best they can possibly be and completely stress-free, we have some salon policies in place.

Patch Testing

Our patch tests are designed to keep you safe from skin irritation and allergic reactions. It’s salon policy for all clients having any of the treatments listed below to have a patch test at least 48 hours prior to their treatment. We kindly ask the patch test be booked as close to your appointment as possible.

Why Patch Test?

Patch tests are a pre-treatment safety measure – they help us ensure you don’t react negatively to certain products. We require them for several of our services, including:

  • Hair Colour
  • HD brows**
  • Brow/lash tinting
  • Lash Bomb Lash lift**
  • Lash extensions
  • Microblading
  • Brow Lamination

When Do You Need a Patch Test?

You’ll need a patch test if:

  • You’re new to your chosen treatment at Hair Ministry
  • You haven’t had a patch test in the last 6 months

It's also important to get re-tested if:

  • You’re pregnant* or breastfeeding*
  • Your medical/prescription situation has changed
  • You’ve had an adverse reaction to COVID or the COVID vaccination
  • You’ve recently had the COVID vaccination (or any vaccination).

If you’ve tested positive for COVID or had a COVID vaccine, a new patch test is needed for the following treatments:

  • HD Brows**
  • Brow Lamination**
  • Microblading
  • Lash Bomb Lash Lift**

We’ll wait at least two weeks after your vaccine to perform the patch test, just to be safe. If we don’t have an up-to-date patch test on record, we may need to adjust your treatment or reschedule.

The Fine Print

Patch tests are important, but remember, they don’t guarantee you won’t have an allergic reaction. If you experience any redness or irritation during or after the 48-hour test period, rinse immediately and consult a doctor.

Note: Per new guidelines, we can’t perform a patch test or certain services (YUMI lash lift, Lash Bomb lash lift, HD Brows, and brow lamination) for those who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.

Cancellation and No-Shows

We know life can be unpredictable and sometimes, plans change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we ask for at least 24 hours’ notice (or 48 hours’ notice for hair extension appointments).

If you forget to let us know or don’t attend your appointment, we may have to charge you in full. Remember, you can cancel your appointment online if it’s more than 24 hours away.

Deposits aren’t refundable for unattended appointments, meaning we might have to charge the remaining full appointment amount. If you miss your appointment or don’t give us enough notice more than twice, we’ll ask for a deposit or full payment in advance for any future bookings. This payment is refundable adhering to the cancellation policy.

Deposits

The Hair Ministry team ask for a 50% deposit for your first booking with us if you’ve booked in the salon, over the phone, or online. All future services booked online require a 50% deposit to secure.

For hair extension services, we kindly request payment for the application time at your first appointment. For any following appointments, we’ll ask for a 50% deposit to secure your slot. Remember to give us at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel.

When are Deposits Non-Refundable?

If you give us less than 24 hours’ notice to cancel or fail to attend your appointment without notice, we won’t be able to refund your deposit.

When are Deposits Refundable?

We’ll be able to refund your deposit if you cancel with more than 24 hours’ notice (for hair extensions, we need 48 hours’ notice), or if a service or treatment is unsuitable for you or cannot be provided by us for any reason.

If you miss an appointment or don’t give us enough notice more than twice, we’ll ask for a deposit or full payment in advance for any future bookings. This payment is refundable adhering to the cancellation policy.

Additional Time

We like to keep things straightforward, so our prices (visible in full on our pricelist page) are usually based on the standard completion time for each of our services – however, everyone’s locks are unique. If your hair is long or thick, or if we need to use a bit more product than usual, it might take us a bit longer to make sure everything’s perfect.

If that’s the case, we may need to add an extra £16 for each additional 15 minutes of styling time.

Child Safety

We’re all about family here at Hair Ministry, but also want to ensure everyone’s safety. Our salon is filled with sharp tools, special equipment, and chemical products – all essential for making you look great, but potentially hazardous for children.

If you’re bringing a little one to our salon, we kindly ask you to keep a close eye on them and keep them from wandering unattended. And if they’re joining you in our beauty treatment rooms, please consider the potential hazards before stepping inside.

Customer Complaints

Your satisfaction is our top priority at Hair Ministry. We’re committed to delivering exceptional service, but we understand that sometimes things may not go as expected. Complaints, while rare, are an opportunity for us to learn and improve.

Our Complaints Process

If something about your service didn’t meet your expectations, let us know. Explain the issue to us clearly and calmly, either while you’re in the salon or as soon as possible after your visit. We’ll attentively listen to your feedback, asking clarifying questions to fully understand your concerns.

We aim to resolve all complaints within a week. If you’ve left the salon and are unhappy, especially with a hair colour, please avoid visiting another salon before we have a chance to address your concerns. We need to see the original service or treatment result to properly rectify the situation.

We’ll arrange a time for you to come back and discuss your concerns privately. If your complaint is reasonable, we’ll redo part or all of the service or treatment, free of charge. You can request a different stylist or beauty therapist, although it may not always be possible.

If we can’t fix the problem, we may offer a partial or full refund depending on the nature of your complaint.
