Shaving The Area Where Requested to Do So: Typically,you’ll be asked to shave the area to be treated a day before your appointment. This ensures that the laser targets the hair at the root, beneath the surface of the skin.

Avoid Sun Exposure: Stay out of the sun and sunbeds – tanned skin (even fake) can increase the risk of complications such as skin lightening.

No Waxing or Plucking: Because the laser targets the root of the hair, it’s important not to wax, pluck, or have electrolysis for six weeks before your treatment.

Arrive Fresh-Faced: On the day of your appointment, you should ensure the area to be lasered is clear of any makeup or skincare products.

Skip the Gym: Avoid intense workouts or anything that will make you sweat heavily before your appointment.

For instance, an upper lip laser treatment costs £50 for a single session or £250 if you choose to book a course of treatments. On the other hand, a full-leg laser treatment is priced at £240 per session, with the option to purchase a course of treatments for £1000.

Laser hair removal serves two main purposes – removing hair from the follicle during the session, and preventing/significantly slowing hair regrowth over time. But just how long does the latter take to take effect?

Our hair removal experts typically start to notice a difference in hair growth rates after the first couple of laser treatments conducted. This is because hair grows in different stages 00 with laser only affecting hair in this way during the active growth phase. So, for the laser to effectively target the hair it needs to at the correct time, a series of treatments, typically spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, will be required.

By the third or fourth session, you should see a significant reduction in hair. And after about 6 to 8 treatments, most people achieve a 70% to 90% permanent reduction in hair growth depending on your chosen area of removal and hair type.

Laser is ultimately on the pricier side as a result of treatment time/length (it can be booked as a one-off but it’s advisable to complete a course), and the technology and expertise required to complete it.
