Is there anything I need to know before my appointment?
When booking an appointment at The Academy for a hair colour service, there’s a small but important step to take before your visit: a patch test. This quick, straightforward test ensures your skin won’t have an adverse reaction to any hair dye or products used. You can find out more about our patch testing policy on our salon policies page.
Additionally, because our students are perfecting their skills, model appointments may require a bit more of your time than a standard service. So, when planning your visit, please set aside ample time.
What type of hair services can I have at the Academy?
At The Academy, our dedicated students offer a wide array of hair services under the meticulous supervision of our team. For our Level 2 students, available services include blow-drys, root colours, full head colours, and basic one-length cuts.
Our Level 3 students are skilled in a variety of haircuts including layering, short haircuts, and also colour services like highlights and balayage. Whether you’re looking for a fresh cut or a new colour, the Academy offers an affordable way to achieve your hair goals while supporting the next generation of hairdressing talent.
How to become a hair model?
Becoming a hair model is more simple than you might think! Our team recommend doing some online research on your local salons and hair stylist training centres – determining which are actively seeking models.Be sure to read up on their needs – some may require significant hair changes.
After you’ve found a location and appointment type that best suits your needs, be sure to check for availability, as training sessions usually occur during business hours.
After this, booking can be as simple as going through an online booking system, or giving your chosen provider a call. If hair colouring is involved, remember that you’ll have to undergo a patch test before your appointment.
